The Dray All Purpose Valve (APV)

Ring check and ball check valves historically have caused more downtime and part weight variation than any other injection machine component. The Dray All Purpose Valve (APV) solves valve related problems for the injection molding industry. The APV not only closes consistently, but does so without the use of pullback. Closure is achieved when the ring slides past the radial groove. Further sealing occurs when the ring contacts the upstream retainer. This sliding closure allows the valve to close positively while withstanding pack and hold pressures of 20,000 PSI without creeping into the cushion. The APV does not require ring thickness for closure therefore minimal land length is utilized which translates to minimum pressure drop during recovery. The minimizing of land length enables the APV to use (3) times less distance to close than standard valves. Less distance to close translates to less part weight variation. This valve is substantially less restrictive than any consistent closing valve on the market today. Less restriction means faster recovery along with less temperature rise. The APV does not require close ring O.D. to barrel I.D. clearance to close, therefore barrel wear is reduced substantially. The unique configuration also enhances color mixing and dispersion. Pricing is very attractive. Our valve costs less than most valves being sold and far less than high priced pre-closing valves.
